Keyboardist Henri Andersson joined the band as the sixth permanent member in Hard Rock Laager festival in Estonia. Mr. Andersson has been playing live with the band since the beginning of 2010 when the band started touring after the release of our fifth full length album "The Great Fleet of Echoes", and fits the band perfectly. Throes Of Dawn has signed a recording contract with the Finnish Firebox Records. Firebox is due to release the upcoming fifth Throes Of Dawn album in January 2010. The upcoming album is titled "The Great Fleet of Echoes" and will be released both in CD and LP formats. It has been a long and dark year, but now it seems that all the hard work really pays off. We are very happy with the contract and look forward to the future collaboration with Firebox Records. More info and details about the album will follow later, so stay tuned! 31.12.2008 Wings of doom festival in Russia The year 2008 has now passed and it´s about time to put up some info of what´s happening in the TOD camp. Firstly, I am glad to announce you that Throes Of Dawn will perform live in Russia at the Wings of Doom festival. The shows will be held at Moscow and St. Petersburg on 14. and 15. of March. More details about the event will be added here when we get them. 31.12.2008 Album update Finally, I am pleased to tell you that the recordings of the fifth album have been finished on most parts and the sound engineer will start the mixing process at the very beginning of January. As you can guess, the recording of this album has not been an easy task. It has required the patience of a dead animal to pull this thing through. But I can guarantee you it has been well worth all the time and trouble. This album is going to be the ultimate Throes Of Dawn album, our magnum opus. We are well behind the schedules and plans, and I´m not going to give you any release date because it will propably not hold anyway, but the most important thing is that we are actually making progress and all the work will be over very soon. 13.03.2008 THROES OF DAWN To Headline Germany's HEIDENEI BENEFIZ FESTIVAL As we told you, we have some upcoming shows to be revealed.. Throes of dawn is making a great progress with the recordings with more than half of the material already done! Drums, bass and lead guitars are "in the can", next in line are the synths, acoustic and additional guitars and last but not least, are the vocals. Throes Of Dawn has played two very successful live shows in the Selviytyjät private metal fest, and in Turku with Fall of the Leafe and Forgotten Tomb. We have been concentrating so much on the upcoming recordings that we didn’t book any shows for the summer time. And now it felt just great to perform live with such great bands. We would like to thank our fans and audiences on both shows. It was magical. Unfortunately we are not going to play any more shows during this autumn because we are finally entering a studio to record our fifth album! The recordings are due to start in the beginning of October with the help of Tero “Max” Kostermaa, the same studio engineer who recorded and mixed Quicksilver Clouds. We are sorry for the long period of silence in the news section. But worry not. Things are happening underneath the stale surface! We made a firm decision earlier this year to dedicate this year solely to song writing. We have been busy testing and experimenting with the new material. A lot of big things has happened in our personal lives as well. We have also purchased new recording gear and other instruments in order to widen the sound spectrum of the band. The final round of test recordings for the new songs is now ongoing and the material seems to be very promising! The music is now even more atmospheric and organic. The music is flowing through the speakers like a soundtrack to a dream. No titles to be revealed yet, but it seems that we now have enough material to start the recordings of the full-length album later this year. So, stay tuned for more detailed information! 21.12.2005 Reissues in January 2006 Avantgarde Music is taking reissues of Throes Of Dawn's two latest albums, Binding of the Spirit and Quicksilver Clouds. Binding of the Spirit sold out many repressings back in 2000, and has been unavailable for some years now. Also our latest album, Quicksilver Clouds, has been sold out for a while.
